Global tech firm Anker Innovations has launched its GaNPrime charging line in Nairobi, targeting Kenya’s burgeoning digital economy with smarter, more efficient power management devices designed for mobile and professional use.
Anker Innovations has entered the Kenyan market with a Nairobi launch aimed at consumers who depend on phones, laptops and other connected devices for daily life. The event, held at a city hotel, drew hundreds of tech enthusiasts, dealers, digital creators and industry figures, according to the company’s announcement and TUKO.co.ke’s report. The move reflects the rapid expansion of Kenya’s digital economy, where reliable charging and portable power have become practical necessities rather than accessories.
Able Liu, Anker Kenya’s country manager, said the company’s expansion responds to rising demand for smarter power management across the region. In a statement shared with TUKO.co.ke, he said the firm wants technology that not only delivers electricity but also controls it intelligently. That positioning fits a market in which mobile devices are central to payments, banking, commerce, education and entertainment.
At the centre of the Kenyan launch is Anker’s GaNPrime charging line, built around gallium nitride, or GaN, a material that allows chargers to be smaller, cooler and more efficient than many traditional silicon models. Anker says the system combines GaN with its PowerIQ power-management software and ActiveShield thermal controls. The company claims the result is a charging platform capable of delivering up to 140W while allocating power dynamically across connected devices. Anker has separately described GaNPrime as part of a wider push for faster, smarter and more energy-efficient charging.
The Kenyan portfolio also includes high-capacity power banks, multi-port charging stations and Soundcore earbuds and headphones. Among the devices highlighted at the launch was a Prime 250W charging station with six ports and real-time power monitoring, a product designed for homes, offices and mobile professionals who need to charge several devices at once. The range suggests Anker is targeting the growing number of users who want compact equipment that can handle multiple devices safely and with less clutter.
