Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 series alongside accessories at its Made by Google event on August 12, revealing new features, hardware updates, and pricing strategies that signal a shift towards premium positioning.
Google has confirmed that it will unveil the Pixel 11 family at its Made by Google event in New York on August 12, with the presentation due to stream at 6 p.m. ET, or 3:30 a.m. IST on August 13. The launch is expected to cover four phones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google is also expected to show the Pixel Watch 5 and a new Bluetooth tracker, called Pixel Tag, as it broadens its hardware line-up beyond smartphones.
Pricing may be one of the main talking points. According to 9to5Google, Google’s vice president of devices and services, Shakil Barkat, has said the wider Pixel range will see “adjustments” as component costs rise. The same report said the company is dropping 128GB as the entry storage tier for the Pixel 11 series, with 256GB likely to be the new starting point and 512GB and 1TB also expected. That would make the phones less accessible at the low end, but more in line with premium rivals that have already moved away from smaller base storage.
Leaks and early reports suggest the base Pixel 11 will keep a 6.3-inch display and use Google’s Tensor G6 chip, while running Android 17. It is said to have a triple rear camera system with a 48-megapixel main sensor, plus ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, and a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired charging. The Pixel 11 Pro is tipped to use the same 6.3-inch screen size but with a brighter panel, a 50-megapixel main camera and a larger 42-megapixel front camera. Android Central reported that a leaked Pixel 11 Pro XL unit appears in matte black with an updated notification feature called “HiLight”, described as an RGB light built into the camera bar.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to mirror much of the Pro model’s hardware but with a 6.8-inch OLED display and a 5,115mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is said to have an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.4-inch outer display, again powered by Tensor G6. Its camera set is expected to include a 48-megapixel main sensor, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, plus two 10-megapixel selfie cameras, one on each screen. TechRadar and Gadgets 360 reported that Google has also teased a new notification light effect, called Pixel Glow, and that pre-orders may begin on launch day.
