Google is set to introduce the Fitbit Air, its first screenless fitness tracker, to the Indian market in October 2026, emphasising discreet health tracking with a seven-day battery life and extensive health features.
Google will bring Fitbit Air to India in October 2026, introducing its first screenless fitness tracker to the market. The company has not yet disclosed the exact launch date, pricing, colour choices or retail partners, but it is expected to release those details nearer the time. The Indian launch follows the global debut of the device in May 2026 and comes after Google’s recent Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5 introductions in the country.
The tracker is designed for users who want continuous health monitoring without a watch face on the wrist. According to Google’s product information, Fitbit Air weighs 12 grams with its band and is 8.3mm thick, making it notably smaller than a conventional smartwatch. It does not display notifications, messages or health metrics on the device itself; instead, users review data in the Google Health app on a connected phone.
The health suite is broad for a device of this size. It includes 24-hour heart-rate tracking, heart rhythm monitoring with atrial fibrillation alerts, blood oxygen readings, sleep-stage analysis, activity tracking, Active Zone Minutes, Readiness Scores and automatic workout detection. Google also says the tracker can send live heart-rate data to compatible exercise machines and switch between its own wearables while keeping information within the same health platform. Some functions, including atrial fibrillation alerts, may vary by market depending on regulatory clearance.
Battery claims are strong for the category. Google says Fitbit Air can run for up to seven days, with a five-minute top-up delivering enough power for about a day and a full charge taking around 90 minutes. The device carries a 5ATM water-resistance rating and works with Android 11 or later and iPhones running iOS 16.4 or later. Basic health readings do not require a subscription, although Google is offering a three-month trial of Google Health Premium in some international markets. The company has not said whether that trial will be included in India.
Pricing in India remains unconfirmed. In the United States, Fitbit Air starts at $99.99, while a Stephen Curry special edition is priced at $129.99. Google has shown the tracker in India with a pink Performance Loop band, but it has not said which accessories or finishes will go on sale locally. Third-party import listings have already surfaced at much higher prices, though those should not be mistaken for official launch pricing.
