Motorola has launched the ultra-thin Moto Pad 70 in India, featuring a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, AI-powered tools, and a lightweight metal chassis, setting a new benchmark for portable 5G tablets.
Motorola has unveiled the Moto Pad 70 in India, positioning it as a slim 5G tablet aimed at users who want a mix of portability, productivity and media playback in one device. The launch comes as the company broadens its tablet line-up with a model built around a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, a bundled Moto Pen and a metal chassis that Motorola says is both its thinnest and lightest tablet in the segment.
The new device measures 6.29mm thick and weighs 530g, according to the company’s launch materials and independent product reports. Motorola is offering it in a PANTONE Titan Sea Angel finish, while the display is rated for up to 800 nits of brightness and 96% DCI-P3 colour coverage, a combination intended to improve outdoor visibility and colour accuracy for video, reading and creative work.
Performance is handled by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 processor, a 6nm chip typically used in entry-level and mid-range 5G handsets. Reports from Gizmochina, NotebookCheck and other product trackers say the tablet ships with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and support for microSD expansion up to 2TB. Motorola is also pairing the device with Android 16 and promises two major Android upgrades plus security updates through 2030.
The company is leaning heavily on AI features to differentiate the tablet. Motorola says the Moto Pad 70 includes AI-powered writing tools, AI Notes, Google Circle to Search and access to Gemini, allowing users to search, translate, summarise and generate content directly on screen. The Moto Pen is included in the box, and the optional Moto Folio Keyboard turns the tablet into a more laptop-like setup for typing and note-taking.
Battery life is another central selling point. Motorola says the 10,200mAh battery can support up to 13 hours of YouTube streaming, while 68W TurboPower charging is designed to deliver around two hours of use from 10 minutes of charging. The tablet also includes quad speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, plus Smart Connect for moving files and tasks between compatible Motorola phones, tablets and PCs.
Motorola says the Moto Pad 70 will go on sale in India from August 15 through Flipkart, Motorola.in and retail stores. The launch price is listed at Rs 33,999, with a bank offer reducing the effective starting price to Rs 29,999.
