After a year of consolidation, Nothing aims to launch six smartphones in 2027, while expanding into AI-driven wearables and physical retail, signalling a broad strategic reset.
Nothing is preparing a broader smartphone push in 2027 after a year of consolidation, with co-founder Akis Evangelidis saying the company expects to double the number of handsets it brings to market. According to comments reported by HWUpgrade, Nothing launched three phones this year and is aiming for six next year, part of a plan to widen its range and revive momentum in the category.
The move would mark a sharper phase in the brand’s recovery efforts after weeks of speculation about its health. Nothing has already said it is in the middle of a reorganisation, but Evangelidis’s remarks suggest the company does not expect any major product flurry in the near term. The message is that the real reset is due next year, not this one.
That fits with separate reporting from PhoneArena, Gadgets360 and TechRadar that Nothing has no flagship smartphone planned for 2026. Instead, the company appears set to lean on the Phone 4a series and its audio business, while Carl Pei has said future upgrades need to feel meaningful rather than rushed. The company is also weighing higher phone prices because of rising RAM costs, those outlets reported.
Nothing’s longer-term strategy is now looking increasingly broader than phones alone. Bloomberg, as cited by Infobae, has reported that the company is developing smart glasses for 2027, with Pei describing a device built around artificial intelligence, voice control and automation. That would place Nothing among the growing number of consumer electronics firms trying to move into AI-driven wearables.
At the same time, the company is still pushing into physical retail. PhoneArena reported that Nothing’s full range is now available in more than 500 Best Buy stores in the US, a notable shift for a brand that began as an online-only player. The company is also planning new offices in London and a store in Bengaluru, underscoring its intention to scale beyond its niche roots.
