OLED monitor shipments surge 26% in Q2, with Asus maintaining lead as competition intensifies

Global OLED monitor shipments soared in the second quarter of 2026, driven by new product launches and strong Chinese demand, with Asus leading the market amid increasing competition among major brands.

OLED monitor shipments accelerated sharply in the second quarter of 2026, underlining how quickly the premium display category is moving into the mainstream. According to TrendForce, global shipments rose 26.1% from the previous quarter and were 98% higher than a year earlier, helped by a wave of new product launches, strong sales during China’s 618 shopping festival and continuing demand for 27-inch QHD models.

ASUS kept the leading position in the market with a 23.1% share. TrendForce said the brand benefited from the 618 shopping period and from robust demand in China’s internet café sector, where high-refresh gaming displays remain popular. The company had already taken the top spot in 2025, when TrendForce estimated that OLED monitor shipments reached 2.735 million units, up 92% year on year.

Samsung remained in second place with 13.1%, although its position weakened as the quarter progressed. TrendForce said the company’s reduced exposure to the Chinese market limited its ability to capture seasonal demand. MSI, by contrast, moved closer with a 12.8% share, assisted by aggressive promotions around 618. The gap between the two brands narrowed to just 0.3 percentage points, suggesting a possible reshuffle in the next quarter.

AOC took fourth place with 8.6%, supported by a fast rollout of products in the 27-inch QHD segment and steady Chinese demand. LG Electronics followed with 8.4%, with shipments of its 39-inch WUHD OLED premium monitor rising during the quarter. TrendForce said these gains point to a market that is broadening beyond the earliest gaming-centric use cases.

The wider industry picture is one of improving supply and intensifying competition. TrendForce noted that better OLED panel availability is helping smaller brands raise shipments and close the gap with the established leaders. The top five brands accounted for 66% of the market in the quarter, leaving 34% to other manufacturers. Analysts cited by Windows Central and PC Gamer also pointed to falling OLED monitor prices and weak affordability in other PC categories as factors encouraging upgrades, especially among gamers. TrendForce expects OLED monitor shipments to keep expanding through 2026, with competition over specifications, cost and panel supply likely to remain central.
