OnePlus signals retreat from Europe and North America with farewell giveaway and ecosystem shift

As OnePlus withdraws from markets in Europe and North America, the company offers a limited-edition wireless charger amid plans to phase out its regional presence and consolidate under Oppo’s ecosystem, marking a significant shift in its global strategy.

OnePlus has begun marking the end of its consumer presence in Europe and North America with a limited giveaway that underscores the scale of its retreat. According to coverage from IXBT News, the company is offering European users a free 50W AIRVOOC magnetic wireless charger as part of a farewell promotion, with stock capped at 5,600 units across four countries.

The promotion is available in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and France. To qualify, users must subscribe to Oppo’s mailing list through the regional website and then link their OnePlus account to an Oppo account. There are no country-specific quotas, so the chargers will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis across all four markets until supplies run out. Oppo is also advertising extra discounts on some of its products, although smartphones are excluded.

The offer follows OnePlus’s confirmation that it will stop launching new products in Europe and North America, a shift first reported by TechCrunch in July and later confirmed by other technology outlets. The company has said existing customers will continue to receive software updates and after-sales support, suggesting that the withdrawal is commercial rather than an immediate abandonment of current users.

The move also appears to be tied to a broader consolidation under parent company Oppo. TechSpot, Android Central and other outlets reported that OnePlus is phasing out OxygenOS in favour of ColorOS, Oppo’s Android interface, as the brand narrows its regional focus. That change is significant for users because it affects not just hardware availability but also the software identity that has long distinguished OnePlus devices from Oppo phones.

For customers in Europe and North America, the practical effect is a thinner product pipeline and a greater reliance on existing stock, support services and account migration into Oppo’s ecosystem. The farewell charger promotion is small in scale, but it is a clear signal that OnePlus is managing an orderly exit from markets that once defined its growth.
