Poco’s new F8 Pro and F8 Ultra mark a move upmarket in Europe, featuring flagship specs and higher prices, signalling a shift in the brand’s value positioning.
Poco has moved its F-series further upmarket with the European arrival of the F8 Pro and F8 Ultra, a launch that underlines how sharply the value segment has shifted. According to La Razón, which cited WinFuture, the company is positioning the pair as high-end alternatives for buyers who still want flagship-level specifications without paying iPhone or top-tier Samsung money. Yet the pricing now looks materially higher than the bargain image Poco once traded on, even if it still undercuts many premium rivals.
The headline hardware is strong. Both phones use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and Bose-tuned stereo speakers, a combination aimed at performance and audio quality. ComputerBase and Heise reported that the F8 Pro carries a 6.59-inch OLED display, while the F8 Ultra increases the panel to 6.9 inches. Both screens run at 120Hz and are rated at up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Memory and storage options are also shared across the range, with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The European versions are also said to trim battery capacity compared with the Chinese Redmi models they are based on. La Razón reported that the F8 Pro uses a 6,330mAh battery and the F8 Ultra an 8,050mAh unit, both with 100W charging and IP69 protection against dust and water. It also said the Ultra adds an LED notification ring and that both phones place rear speakers beside the camera module, reinforcing Poco’s emphasis on media use.
Camera hardware remains ambitious. La Razón said the F8 Pro pairs a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, while the Ultra upgrades the ultra-wide camera to 50MP and adds a 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x zoom. The front camera is listed at 32MP on both devices. For Europe, ComputerBase, Heise and other outlets reported pricing of €519.90 for the F8 Pro and €699.90 for the F8 Ultra in their base configurations, with the top Ultra model reaching €749.90. That is still expensive by Poco standards, but it remains far short of the four-figure pricing once associated with the flagship class.
