Samsung has increased the prices of its budget 5G smartphones in India, with the Galaxy M17 5G and F17 5G among those affected, signalling a shift in the affordable segment amid broader industry price adjustments.
Samsung has raised the prices of several of its budget 5G phones in India, with revised rates taking effect from 18 August 2026. The changes cover the Galaxy M17 5G, Galaxy F17 5G, Galaxy F70E and Galaxy M17E, and the size of the increase depends on the RAM and storage version, according to the company’s pricing update reported by MyMobileIndia.
The steepest adjustment is on the Galaxy M17 5G. Its 4GB and 128GB model has moved up by Rs1,000 to Rs18,999, while the 6GB version has risen by Rs2,000 to Rs21,999. The 8GB variant has seen the largest jump, climbing Rs3,000 to Rs24,999. That leaves the handset starting at Rs18,999, above the launch-level pricing listed by third-party handset trackers earlier this year.
The Galaxy F17 5G has also become dearer. Its 6GB and 128GB configuration now costs Rs22,999, while the 8GB version has gone up to Rs25,999. MyMobileIndia said the Galaxy F70E and Galaxy M17E have been adjusted in the same way, with the 4GB variants rising to Rs17,499 and the 6GB models to Rs20,499. A separate Gadgets 360 report had already suggested that Samsung was preparing to lift the Galaxy F17 5G’s price in India, citing a leaked internal document.
The revisions continue a broader round of price changes across Samsung’s Indian smartphone line-up, particularly in its Galaxy A, M and F families. For buyers, the effect is most visible in the lower and mid-tier segments, where even modest increases can shift a device into a higher price bracket and narrow the gap with more capable rivals. Samsung has not publicly detailed the rationale for the latest adjustments, but the new pricing is now reflected across the affected models.
