Tejas Networks secures significant TCS order to expand Bharat Sanchar Nigam's 4G network

Tejas Networks has received a ₹1,537 crore letter of intent from TCS to supply equipment for BSNL’s nationwide 4G rollout, signalling a major boost to India’s domestic telecom expansion and localised network production.

Tejas Networks has received a ₹1,537 crore letter of intent from Tata Consultancy Services for supplies linked to Bharat Sanchar Nigam’s 4G roll-out, adding fresh momentum to one of India’s largest state-backed telecom modernisation projects. The company said the order covers equipment and materials for 18,685 sites and was disclosed in an exchange filing dated August 27, 2026.

According to Tejas Networks, the proposed scope includes radio access network equipment, along with accessories and installation materials needed for the BSNL network build-out. The filing did not break down the value across those components, nor did it disclose site-wise details, delivery schedules or other commercial terms. The company said the letter of intent will be followed by a detailed purchase order from TCS in due course.

The order appears to build on earlier work tied to BSNL’s indigenous 4G programme. Economic Times reported that it follows a previous ₹2,903 crore add-on purchase order from BSNL to TCS, underlining the continuing expansion of the network across the country. Another report from The Economic Times said the announcement lifted Tejas Networks’ shares sharply, with the stock touching an intraday high after the news. Moneycontrol also reported a strong rally, saying the counter was among the day’s top small-cap gainers on the NSE.

The latest order also highlights Tejas Networks’ growing position in the domestic telecom supply chain at a time when India is pushing for more locally developed network infrastructure. While the company has not disclosed execution timing, the size of the contract suggests a meaningful addition to its pipeline if the purchase order is issued as expected.
