Vivo’s X500 series nears release with multiple models in development, featuring rapid charging up to 100W, premium screens, and significant camera upgrades, signalling a comprehensive product lineup ahead of an expected September debut.
Vivo’s X500 family has moved a step closer to release after a 3C certification filing in China revealed charging and network details for the standard model, while a separate listing pointed to the same progress for the iQOO 16. According to Gadgets 360 and Gizmochina, the X500 appears under model number V2609A with 90W wired charging and N79 5G support, while a Beidou satellite communication variant is said to be under development. The iQOO 16, listed as V2606A, is reported to support 100W charging and N79 5G, strengthening expectations that both phones will reach the Chinese market soon.
The certification trail also suggests Vivo is lining up a broader launch strategy for the X500 range. NokiaPowerUser reported earlier network certification for three models: the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. WhatMobile, meanwhile, said the IMEI database has also shown an X500e, implying a fourth, lower-cost variant. Taken together, the filings indicate Vivo may be preparing a full tiered line-up rather than a single flagship handset.
Leaked specifications point to significant variation across the range. Gadgets 360 reported that the base X500 is expected to have a 6.59-inch display and a large circular camera unit, while the Pro and Pro Max models may use centred circular modules, with screens of about 6.37 inches and 6.85 inches. The Pro handsets are also tipped to offer slimmer bezels, more curved corners and 1.5K or 2K panels with refresh rates up to 144Hz.
Chipset and camera rumours suggest Vivo is aiming for a substantial upgrade. Previous reports cited by Gadgets 360 said the Pro models could use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600-series chips, while the standard X500 may rely on another 3nm processor. Camera leaks point to a triple-rear setup across the series, with the Pro Max potentially featuring a 200-megapixel periscope lens. The devices are still expected to debut in September, although Vivo has not confirmed launch dates for either the X500 line or the iQOO 16.
