Xiaomi’s 85-inch QLED model sees a significant price cut during Amazon’s Flash Prime event, offering a hybrid entertainment experience with cinema-grade features and gaming capabilities, but room size is key for buyers.
Amazon’s latest Flash Prime event has pushed the Xiaomi TV Max 85 into sharper view for buyers looking for an oversized television with cinema-friendly features and gaming credentials. The 85-inch QLED model, which Xiaomi positions as a high-end large-screen set, is now listed at €899 on Amazon, down from its earlier €999 tag and well below the €1,299 launch price highlighted by Frandroid. According to Xiaomi’s product information, the set combines 4K resolution with a 144Hz panel, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, and Google TV software.
The scale of the screen is the first thing prospective buyers need to account for. Xiaomi says the television uses two side-mounted feet rather than a central stand, which means it needs a wide cabinet or a wall mount. The company’s specifications put the chassis at a size that will not suit small living rooms, but the trade-off is an image large enough to mimic a home-cinema set more closely than a conventional living-room television. Xiaomi also lists VESA compatibility, which makes wall installation a practical alternative for people who do not have a very deep or wide media unit.
On picture and sound, the emphasis is on wide colour and immersive playback rather than raw brightness claims. Xiaomi says the panel covers 94% of the DCI-P3 gamut, and it includes a Filmmaker mode for users who want a presentation closer to the director’s intent. For audio, the set supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which should make it more appealing to viewers who want a TV that can handle film soundtracks without immediately needing a separate speaker system. Frandroid’s report also underlines that this is one of the main reasons the model stands out in a crowded discount market.
The TV is not aimed solely at film fans. Xiaomi’s specifications list three HDMI 2.1 inputs, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode, all of which are now common expectations on premium gaming displays and current-generation consoles. The panel runs at 144Hz natively, while Xiaomi says a Game Boost mode can push that to 240Hz. Deal coverage from Germany also notes support for AirPlay, alongside Google TV and the same discounted €899 pricing seen on Amazon, reinforcing that this is being marketed as a hybrid entertainment display rather than a pure home-cinema product.
For shoppers, the key question is less whether the television is well specified than whether the room can physically accommodate it. At 85 inches, the Xiaomi TV Max is the sort of purchase that rewards careful measuring before checkout. But for buyers who want a very large screen with modern gaming inputs, streaming software and broad audio-visual support, Amazon’s temporary reduction makes it considerably more compelling than at launch. Frandroid says the offer is part of Amazon’s Prime event, which runs until Wednesday 7 October 2026, and that the discount is one of the more notable large-screen deals of the period.
