Xiaomi plans to broaden its tablet portfolio with the new Pad 9 series, including three models with varying sizes and charging speeds, potentially rivaling Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S range and set for release in late 2026.
Xiaomi appears to be preparing a broader tablet push with the Pad 9 family, a move that would give it a three-model line-up aimed squarely at Samsung’s next Galaxy Tab S range. According to Notebookcheck, the company is now linked to a standard Pad 9, a Pad 9 Pro and a larger Pad 9 Pro Max, marking a notable expansion from the more limited structure of earlier generations.
The reported models differ first and foremost in size and charging speed. Notebookcheck says the Pad 9 is expected to use an 11.2-inch display and 45W charging, the Pad 9 Pro a 12.5-inch panel and 67W charging, and the Pad 9 Pro Max a 13.3-inch screen with 120W charging. The 3C certification database is said to support the charging figures, although the naming and display sizes are still based on leak claims rather than official confirmation.
Earlier reports also suggest the standard Pad 9 may carry a 9,720mAh battery and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Gizmochina reported that internal HyperOS code pointed to the same battery capacity and processor, while Notebookcheck.net separately said model numbers and launch signals indicate a wider release window around October 2026. That would place the tablet family in the same general period as Xiaomi’s next flagship phones, if those leaks prove accurate.
For now, the key question is availability beyond China. Notebookcheck says a launch in late September is possible in China, alongside the Xiaomi 18 series, but it remains unclear whether all three tablets will reach Europe. The pattern of previous Xiaomi tablet roll-outs suggests that regional distribution may differ by model, leaving open the possibility that some versions remain China-only.
