TECNO Philippines unveils the CAMON Slim 5G, a remarkably slim smartphone featuring a large 6,000mAh battery and a 50MP Sony camera, amid a fashion-led launch celebrating Filipino women and ingenuity.
TECNO Philippines has launched the CAMON Slim 5G in the market, positioning the handset as an unusually thin 5G model that still carries a large battery and a 50-megapixel Sony camera system. The company says the phone is built around a 6.39mm chassis, yet it houses a 6,000mAh battery and uses the Sony LYTIA 700C sensor for its main rear camera. It also includes Super-Zoom FlashSnap and TECNO Universal Tone, the brand’s imaging system designed to improve colour accuracy across different skin tones.
The Philippine debut was staged through “MAKE IT LIGHTER: The Living Cover Runway”, a fashion-led presentation that linked the device’s design language with modern Filipina identity. TECNO framed the event as a magazine-style experience, with an Arrival Salon, portrait displays and an editorial runway. According to the launch materials and related reports, 15 women from different fields took part, including Megan Young, Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena and Max Collins, with the show built around Burgundy Red modern Filipiniana looks.
TECNO also used the event to introduce a broader visual project with photographer Angélica Dass. The planned October exhibition will focus on working Filipino women, solo mothers and the idea of “diskarte”, a local term for resourcefulness and practical ingenuity. The presentation suggests TECNO is trying to sell the phone not only as an imaging device, but also as part of a lifestyle campaign aimed at women balancing work, family and public life.
The CAMON Slim 5G is being sold in two memory configurations in the Philippines. TECNO has priced the 8GB plus 128GB model at ₱24,999 as a TikTok Shop exclusive, while the 8GB plus 256GB version costs ₱27,999 and is available through official online stores and authorised retailers nationwide. Launch colours include Burgundy Red, Matisse Black and Rebel Pink, with 3D White due to arrive later. Other Philippine technology outlets reported that the handset will also be available through Lazada, Shopee and TECNO stores, and that it retains a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
