Heybike unveils a practical guide for owners of the Mars 3.0, its latest folding fat-tyre e-bike, highlighting new NFC-based startup method and secure battery handling for enhanced user convenience and safety.
Heybike has set out a practical guide for owners of the Mars 3.0, a folding fat-tyre e-bike built around a removable 624Wh battery and NFC-based startup. The model combines a 6061 aluminium alloy frame with a 750W rear hub motor that Heybike says can peak at 1,400W, while the bike’s TFT display also supports passcode entry for riders who do not want to use the included cards.
According to Heybike’s instructions, the battery should only be unlocked after the bike has been switched off, the charger disconnected and the machine placed on a stable surface. The company also warns riders to keep clear of the folding hinge and to avoid forcing either the key or the battery if alignment is not correct. Once the key is pressed in and turned, the release mechanism retracts, allowing the frame to be folded and the battery to be slid out in line with the chassis rather than lifted or twisted.
Reinstallation follows the reverse sequence. Heybike says the battery must be aligned with the internal guide rail, pushed fully home, then locked again with the key before the frame is unfolded and the folding clasp secured. The guide stresses a final check before riding: the battery should not move, and the folding mechanism should be fully engaged.
The startup system is designed to be simple. Riders can power the Mars 3.0 by holding an NFC card against the lower part of the display until the normal riding screen appears, or by using the passcode function. The default code is 0000 unless it has already been changed. Heybike says the display can time out after roughly 10 seconds if no entry is made.
The broader product specifications place the Mars 3.0 firmly in the utility e-bike category. Heybike says it has a top speed of 20 mph in Class 2 mode and up to 28 mph in Class 3 mode, a claimed range of up to 65 miles, a torque sensor for more responsive assistance, lights with turn signals and a rear rack rated to carry up to 100 lbs. The bike’s total load limit is listed at 440 lbs, including rider and cargo.
