Samsung introduces a consolidated Warranty and Care menu within its latest Galaxy Z foldables, enhancing user experience with unified support tools, diagnostics, and repair options through One UI 9.
Samsung has added a new Warranty and care menu to its latest Galaxy Z foldables, giving owners a single place to manage after-sales support from within Settings. The feature, introduced with One UI 9, brings warranty checks, device diagnostics, repair booking and support tools together for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. Samsung says the aim is to make device care quicker and easier across its wider Galaxy ecosystem.
The menu shows the warranty status of the device in use at the top of the screen, including remaining cover and eligibility for Samsung Care+. It also lists linked Galaxy products, such as phones, watches, earbuds and tablets, so users can review coverage across devices tied to the same Samsung account. Samsung is also steering customers towards Care+ plans for extra protection beyond the standard warranty.
A built-in Diagnostics tool checks core functions such as battery health, charging, sensors, touch response and connectivity. If a problem is not obvious, users can also turn to Bixby from the same screen for guided help, with Samsung giving the example of battery drain troubleshooting. That means owners can diagnose common faults without leaving the settings menu or switching to another app.
When a repair is needed, the menu allows users to request service at a Samsung-authorised centre and, where necessary, start remote support instead. Samsung says repairs are handled by certified technicians using genuine parts. The screen also shows estimated repair costs for key components and compares them with the equivalent cost under Samsung Care+, giving customers a clearer view of whether additional cover may be worthwhile.
The new hub arrives alongside Samsung’s broader foldable launch, with the company’s latest devices already available for pre-order in select markets. Samsung’s launch materials also highlight a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, updated Smart Switch tools for iPhone users and extended protection through Samsung Care+. On the software side, One UI 9 has also been rolled out in stable form for the new foldables, adding interface customisation, DeX improvements, Game Booster options and an AI Assistant Activity dashboard, according to SamMobile.
