Screen brightness is one of the clearest and most immediate factors affecting a phone’s battery life. The practical lesson is not to dim the display to the point of discomfort, but to manage it more intelligently.

Android Authority explains that adaptive brightness uses ambient-light sensors to adjust the screen automatically to match surroundings. On Android and iPhone, this setting is usually found in display options, and it can reduce the need for frequent manual changes.
