Asus reports strong early demand for Nvidia’s new RTX Spark notebooks, with retail channels fully reserving units ahead of autumn release, signalling a bullish outlook despite unclear pricing and target market shifts towards professionals.
Asus is striking an upbeat tone on Nvidia’s RTX Spark notebook push after what it says was stronger-than-expected early demand. According to IXBT News, the first production run planned by Asus was already fully reserved by retail partners, a sign that shops expect interest when the machines arrive later this year. That does not prove end-customer demand at launch, but it does suggest the channel is willing to commit early to a new class of premium PCs.
The wider market backdrop is Nvidia’s Computex 2026 unveiling of RTX Spark, an Arm-based platform aimed at AI-focused Windows laptops and desktops. Tom’s Hardware reported that the chip combines 20 Arm CPU cores, a Blackwell-class GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and 128GB of LPDDR5x memory, linked through NVLink C2C. Nvidia is pitching the platform as suited to demanding creative and AI workflows, with claims of very high local AI throughput and support for large-context models.
Other reporting has filled in the likely rollout. Ars Technica said partner systems from Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Acer and Gigabyte are expected to reach the market in the autumn, while PCWorld said more than 30 laptops and 10 desktops are already lined up. Those early devices include creator-focused models such as Asus’s ProArt line and MSI’s Prestige N16 Flip AI+, indicating that Nvidia’s first wave is likely to target professionals rather than the mass market.
Pricing remains unsettled. Nvidia and its partners have not formally announced retail prices, but industry reports point to a premium tier. Some estimates place standard RTX Spark laptops at about $1,799, while higher-end systems could begin near $2,899; other reports suggest a broader starting range of roughly $2,500 to $3,000. That uncertainty matters, because even with healthy retailer interest, final demand will depend on how far these systems can justify their expected cost when they reach shelves.
