The OnePlus 15R launches in Europe with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and an exceptional 7,400mAh battery, redefining budget flagship performance.
OnePlus has stepped back from Europe, yet it still has a handset that looks unusually strong value for money. The OnePlus 15R, positioned below the flagship OnePlus 15, is being sold in Spain for €490 on AliExpress and €584 at PcComponentes, putting it firmly in the sub-€500 bracket that often forces buyers into clear compromises. According to La Razón, the appeal lies in a blend of premium build, high-end performance and unusually generous battery life.
At its core is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a chip that Android Central and TechRadar both identify as the key selling point of the phone. The device is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while benchmark claims cited by La Razón place it above the 3 million mark in AnTuTu. That combination should make it well suited to demanding games, photo editing and other heavy tasks. Some reviews note, however, that this is not a pure no-compromise flagship: the phone omits wireless charging and a telephoto camera, which keeps it below the very top tier.
The display is another major attraction. NanoReview, Android Central and TechRadar all describe a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, with Android Central adding that it is a 1.5K screen. La Razón says peak brightness reaches 4,500 nits, while TechRadar places the figure at 1,800 nits, a difference that may reflect varying measurement methods or promotional data. Even so, the broader picture is clear: this is a fast, high-resolution panel aimed at gaming and smooth everyday use, with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support also part of the package.
Camera hardware is more modest than the rest of the specification sheet, though still respectable for the price. La Razón says the rear system uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, with a 32-megapixel front camera. Battery life is the phone’s standout feature. Multiple sources agree on a 7,400mAh cell, which should easily last more than a day and, in lighter use, close to two. La Razón says wired charging is rated at 80W and can refill the battery in under 90 minutes. The final attraction is software support: OnePlus is promising five years of updates, which should help the 15R remain usable for much longer than many phones in this price range.
