OLED monitor market soars with nearly 100% annual growth amid fierce competition and model launches

The OLED monitor sector experienced a significant expansion in the second quarter of 2026, driven by new model launches, strong consumer demand, especially during China’s 618 shopping festival, and increased supply, with ASUS leading the market and competitors intensifying their efforts.

TrendForce says the OLED monitor market continued to expand sharply in the second quarter of 2026, with global shipments up 26.1% from the previous quarter and 98% higher than a year earlier. The research firm linked the jump to a wave of new model launches, strong demand during China’s 618 shopping festival and continued strength in 27-inch QHD OLED screens, which remain the main entry point for many buyers.

ASUS remained the clear market leader, taking 23.1% of shipments in the period, according to TrendForce. Its position was supported by a broad OLED range and strong sales in China, including demand from internet cafe operators. Samsung kept second place with 13.1%, but TrendForce said its retreat from the Chinese market reduced its ability to benefit from seasonal buying, leaving it only narrowly ahead of MSI, which held 12.8% and is closing fast after a strong promotional push during 618.

The rest of the top tier was also competitive. AOC ranked fourth with 8.6%, helped by a refreshed 27-inch QHD line-up, while LG Electronics followed with 8.4% on the back of premium 39-inch WUHD models, according to TrendForce. The top five brands accounted for 66% of the market, leaving the remaining 34% to smaller players, a sign that wider OLED panel supply is giving more manufacturers room to compete.

The latest quarterly figures follow a volatile but fast-growing period for the category. TrendForce said shipments fell 11% quarter on quarter in the first three months of 2026 because of seasonal weakness, yet still rose 78% from a year earlier, helped by greater QD-OLED panel supply. The firm also reported that global OLED monitor shipments reached 2.735 million units in 2025, up 92% year on year, and forecast more than 4 million units in 2026 and 6.893 million by 2028. It expects OLED’s share of the broader monitor market to rise from 2.1% in 2025 to 5.4% by 2028.
