Apple has added the iPhone X and the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro to its obsolete products list, ending official hardware support for both devices nearly nine years after the iPhone X first went on sale. In Apple’s service model, obsolete products are no longer entitled to hardware repairs, and authorised repair centres can no longer order replacement parts. Apple generally moves a product to the obsolete category more than seven years after it stops selling it, although some Mac models may still qualify for battery service for up to 10 years after the final sale date if components remain available. The iPhone X most recently received iOS 16.7.16, while software support for the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro ended with macOS 15.7.7.
