Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra tops emerging user-driven smartphone rankings, with major brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Apple also highly favoured, reflecting shifting consumer priorities in 2026.
A user-driven smartphone ranking published by GSMArena and carried by Focus places Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Apple, Oppo, POCO, Vivo, Sony and Honor among the models most favoured by readers at the end of August 2026. The list is based on the site’s regularly updated “Top 10 by Fans” feature, which reflects the handsets readers most often save as favourites rather than a formal laboratory test or sales chart. Focus also noted that it had separately covered a ranking of the best POCO phones across different budgets.
At the top of the list is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which launched in early 2026 and has become one of the clearest examples of a feature-rich flagship. According to MacRumors and other product summaries, it includes Samsung’s Privacy Display, a 200-megapixel main camera, multiple telephoto lenses and the S Pen stylus, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is intended to improve both speed and heat control. PhoneArena also lists a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ screen, Android 16 and 12GB of RAM, underlining its premium positioning.
OnePlus 15 follows as the most performance-focused entry in the group. OnePlus says the device uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with a 165Hz LTPO display and a 7,300mAh battery, which is unusually large even by flagship standards. The company also highlights OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, while third-party listings add 80W SUPERVOOC charging and a 50-megapixel main camera.
Xiaomi appears twice in the fan favourites chart with the 17 Pro Max and 17 Ultra. Focus described the Pro Max as the larger-battery model in the series, built around high-end hardware and a more advanced display, while the Ultra is presented as the camera-first option, with Leica optics, a one-inch sensor and flexible periscope zoom. Also near the top is the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, which remains Apple’s leading mainstream flagship until the next generation arrives.
Further down the ranking are the Oppo Find X9 Pro, the POCO F7, Vivo X200 Ultra, Sony Xperia 1 VII and Honor Magic 8 Pro. Focus singled out the Oppo for its Hasselblad-tuned imaging and bright AMOLED panel, the POCO for offering strong performance at a relatively modest price, and the Sony for retaining features many rivals have dropped, including a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD support. The Vivo X200 Ultra’s presence is notable because it is not the newest model in the brand’s photo line, yet it still appeals on camera credentials, while the Honor combines a 200-megapixel camera, a large battery, 3D face scanning and a display with eye-friendly PWM dimming.
