The BMX GaNsta Pixel wall charger combines portability, multiple charging ports, and an innovative colour LCD display, setting a new standard for demanding travellers needing power and visibility on the go.
BMX’s GaNsta Pixel is a travel-friendly wall charger that tries to solve two common problems at once: size and visibility. In Cult of Mac’s review, the charger is presented as a smaller alternative to Apple’s own high-wattage brick, while still offering enough output for a MacBook and enough ports to charge several devices together. The 140W model sits at the top of the range, with a lower-priced 100W version also available.
The hardware is compact for its class, measuring 2.5 by 2.4 by 1.4 inches and weighing 0.46 pounds. According to the review, that makes it markedly smaller and lighter than Apple’s 140W charger, despite the BMX unit adding three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. It also ships with plug adapters for the US, UK, EU and Australia, plus a charging cable, which strengthens its case for frequent travellers.
Its most distinctive feature is the large side-mounted pixel display. The screen is designed to show power draw clearly, either for each port or in total, and can be rotated so the readout stays upright in different orientations. Notebookcheck described the display as a colour LCD capable of showing total wattage, per-port wattage and temperature on the related GaNSTA model, underlining BMX’s focus on at-a-glance monitoring rather than a minimal, hidden interface.
Cult of Mac said real-world testing of the 100W version confirmed the charger’s rated output on its main USB-C ports, with the third USB-C port and USB-A port also delivering useful power. The review noted that the charger is especially sensible for MacBook Air users in its 100W form, while the 140W model is a better fit for MacBook Pro owners who want maximum headroom without carrying Apple’s bulkier adapter. BMX lists the 140W model at $89.99 and the 100W version at $79.99.
