Amazon’s Big Deal Days parameter shifts ahead of holiday shopping, with early electronics discounts attracting Prime members

Amazon announces its October Big Deal Days sale on 6 and 7 October, offering early discounts on electronics to build momentum before Black Friday, with Prime membership still central to access.

Amazon has set its next Big Deal Days sale for 6 and 7 October, giving shoppers an early route into the company’s autumn discounts without waiting for Black Friday. The event, often described as October Prime Day, will still lean heavily on Prime access, but Amazon has already begun cutting prices on a range of electronics ahead of the main sale window. Early offers include the unlocked Google Pixel 10a with a $75 reduction, alongside a 36% discount on the Garmin Venu 3S smartwatch.

The opening wave of deals suggests Amazon is using the run-up to Big Deal Days to seed interest across several product categories, not just its own devices. Android Central has highlighted early discounts on Google Pixel phones and accessories, including savings on the Pixel 10 family, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds Pro 2. The retailer is also pushing down prices on Fire TV sticks, Fire tablets and smart displays, with some Fire products starting at very low entry prices. That mix mirrors the wider pattern of Amazon’s large shopping events, which increasingly combine flagship phones, wearables and streaming hardware in one promotional cycle.

For most shoppers, the main hurdle remains Prime membership. Amazon says its best Big Deal Days offers will require a subscription, although a 30-day free trial remains available for new customers who want access without paying upfront. That makes the event more accessible than it first appears, especially for buyers who only need Prime for a single sale period. It also keeps Amazon competitive at a time when rivals are running their own promotions; Best Buy’s TechFest, for example, has been positioned as a no-membership alternative for Android buyers looking for overlapping discounts.

The October event follows a busy year of Amazon-led sales. Android Central reported that Prime Day 2026 ran from 23 to 26 June, with deals spanning smart TVs, laptops, Android phones and Amazon’s own Echo, Fire TV and Kindle devices. Big Deal Days now gives the retailer a second major shopping moment before the holiday rush, and the early discounts suggest Amazon is again using advance price cuts to build momentum before the headline sale begins.
