Budget fitness trackers elevate core health monitoring with advanced features in 2026

Three affordable fitness trackers, Fitbit Air, Xiaomi Smart Band 10, and Amazfit Helio Strap, demonstrate significant improvements in health monitoring features without high costs, offering consumers versatile options in the budget segment.

Modern fitness trackers remain a practical alternative to smartwatches, particularly for people who want core health metrics without paying for a full-featured wrist computer. In a Tom’s Guide assessment, James Frew singled out three low-cost options for 2026, each aimed at buyers looking for step counting, heart-rate monitoring and sleep analysis at a modest price.

The Fitbit Air is the most stripped-back of the three. It has no screen, and instead works as a discreet band that records steps, sleep, activity, heart rate and blood oxygen levels. Tom’s Guide said its sleep readings were closely aligned with those from the Garmin Forerunner 70, a far more expensive device, while its activity tracking also performed well. In Ukraine, it is listed from 5,739 hryvnia.

Xiaomi’s Smart Band 10 takes a different approach, pairing a slim display with very broad workout support. According to Tom’s Guide, it can track 159 activities, ranging from running and cycling to gym sessions and even some card and board games. In testing, its step and activity counts were comparable with those from the Oura Ring 4, which costs many times more. The app is straightforward, although it offers fewer health details than Fitbit’s software. A more playful feature is its sleep analysis, which maps rest patterns to an animal archetype; for Frew, that was a shark. The band starts at 2,049 hryvnia in Ukraine.

The Amazfit Helio Strap sits between those two in price and ambition. Like the Fitbit Air, it has no display, but Tom’s Guide noted a key advantage: it does not require a subscription to unlock features or analytics. The device can automatically detect workouts, though the reviewer found manual start-up in the Amazfit app more reliable. Its software includes Biocharge, a recovery measure, and PAI, a weekly activity score usually reserved for pricier wearables. Frew also praised the comfort of the standard strap and described the sleep tracking as detailed and accurate. It is sold in Ukraine from 4,770 hryvnia.

Taken together, the three devices show how much value the budget tracker market now offers. The Fitbit Air is the strongest choice for users who want understated hardware and dependable sleep data. The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is the most versatile for workouts and the cheapest of the group. The Amazfit Helio Strap is the best fit for anyone who wants more advanced software without paying for a subscription.
