Google has begun deploying the September 2026 Pixel update, integrating Android 17 QPR1 across Pixel devices and introducing new features such as expanded widgets and a floating navigation menu, along with key security patches.
Google has started rolling out the September 2026 Pixel update, bringing the stable version of Android 17 QPR1 to its phones and tablets after months in testing. According to Droid-Life, the release also forms part of this month’s Pixel Drop, which adds new features alongside the platform update.
The update is available for devices from the Pixel 6 line through to the Pixel 10 family, including the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold. Droid-Life said the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are set to receive their final major software update, with support ending next month.
9to5Google reported that the build is CP3A.260905.009 and that the release includes 20 Pixel-specific fixes across areas such as Bluetooth, Camera, Display and Graphics, Telephony, and the user interface. The same report said the update also patches 115 security issues dated 1 September 2026 and a further 85 dated 5 September 2026.
Android Authority said the September Pixel Drop adds a set of new features on top of the broader Android update, including a redesigned Pixel VIPs experience with expanded widgets, notification badges, and a floating navigation menu for quicker access to favourite contacts. Google and carrier partners are expected to push the update over the air, while factory images and OTA files are also available for users who prefer to install manually.
