Garmin Singapore launches fēnix 9 with advanced mapping, durability and connectivity features

Garmin Singapore introduces the fēnix 9 series, featuring brighter AMOLED screens, enhanced mapping, stamina tools, and optional satellite connectivity, ahead of the upcoming Pro model.

Garmin Singapore has begun selling the fēnix 9 multisport GPS smartwatch from S$1,349, positioning it as the company’s latest flagship outdoor watch in the local market. The launch comes ahead of the fēnix 9 Pro line, which starts at S$1,489 and is due later, according to Garmin Singapore’s announcement and local retail listings.

On paper, the standard fēnix 9 is available in 43mm, 47mm and 51mm sizes. Garmin says it carries an AMOLED screen that is twice as bright as the previous generation, along with a sapphire lens, leakproof buttons and a 40-metre dive rating. The company has also added stamina-focused tools, including stamina zones and a stamina curve, designed to show how endurance changes with training history.

Garmin has also pushed deeper into mapping and training data. Its Singapore product pages say the watch includes 50% more RAM than the fēnix 8, a faster map engine with panning up to 30% quicker, and 64GB of storage for more maps and up to 7,000 songs. The same material highlights new support for indoor rowing metrics, including VO2 Max and a power curve when compatible equipment is used, plus expanded rucking functions that let users change pack weight during an activity.

The fēnix 9 Pro adds more ambitious hardware and connectivity. Garmin says it is the first fēnix model with a titanium case, while the 51mm Pro uses a 1.5-inch AMOLED panel that is larger than the one on the standard model without increasing the case size. Select Pro versions also add inReach satellite and LTE functions for voice, text and SOS from the wrist, together with LiveTrack and Locate through Garmin Messenger, although an active plan is required and coverage varies by region. Garmin Singapore lists the standard model through its brand stores, online shop, Lazada, Shopee, Takashimaya and selected authorised retailers.
