Rolux has unveiled a compact, foldable dual V-mount charger at IBC 2026 designed for filmmakers on the move, featuring 100W power delivery, GaN technology, and a fanless design for quieter, efficient operation.
Rolux has unveiled a foldable dual V-mount charger that aims to make battery management easier for travelling crews. Showcased at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, the compact unit weighs 780g and folds flat for transport before opening into a dual-slot charger for set use, according to CineD and NewsShooter.
The main change is power delivery. Rather than using a dedicated input, the charger runs from a single 100W USB-C PD connection and splits that power into 50W for each channel. Rolux says the design is intended for filmmakers who need a lighter, more portable option without giving up simultaneous charging. The company also bundles a GaN wall adapter and USB-C cable, which avoids the need to source a suitable charger on location.
Unlike many dual chargers, the Rolux unit is fanless. That should make it quieter on set, while the open folded-out structure is meant to help dissipate heat. Rolux says the charger uses GaN technology and an in-house protection board to keep temperatures under control. The company also argues that charging V-mount batteries through a dedicated charger is preferable to relying on a battery’s USB-C port, because direct USB-C charging can concentrate more heat inside the pack.
According to CineD, the charger supports batteries up to 150Wh and can top up two 98Wh or 99Wh packs in about 2.5 hours, or two 150Wh batteries in roughly 3.5 hours. Front-panel LEDs indicate charging status for each slot. The kit also includes a soft bag for carrying the charger and batteries together. Pricing is about $242, and the product is available now.
