Urban Company's Native M3 Pro targets high-TDS households with advanced full RO purification and long-term warranty

Designed for households with hard or variable water sources, the Native M3 Pro offers full reverse osmosis, mineral restoration, and a three-year unconditional warranty, aiming to reduce recurring costs and enhance purity for specific user needs.

Urban Company’s Native M3 Pro is aimed at households where ordinary purification systems are not enough: homes on borewell or tanker supplies, or those facing hard water, high total dissolved solids and inconsistent water quality. In a market crowded with purifiers that lower the TDS figure by blending in untreated water, the M3 Pro takes a different route. It uses full reverse osmosis, adds minerals back after purification and is sold with a three-year unconditional warranty that covers filters, parts and labour. Urban Company says the unit is available through its app and website, with pricing starting at around ₹22,000; Smartprix’s review puts the M3 Pro at ₹25,999.

That positioning matters because the purifier is not meant for every home. Smartprix argues that if municipal water is below 300 parts per million and lab testing shows no heavy metals, a UV-plus-UF purifier is usually enough and will waste less water. A full RO system becomes more relevant when TDS rises above 500 ppm, or when testing shows contaminants such as lead, arsenic, fluoride or nitrates. In other words, the M3 Pro is designed for a specific problem set rather than as a universal upgrade.

The hardware reflects that brief. Smartprix describes a 6-litre surgical-grade stainless steel tank with in-tank UV sterilisation, a glossy front panel, touch controls and a dot matrix display that shows input and output TDS, temperature and tank level in real time. The most practical design touch is a magnetic front panel that can be removed for servicing without tools. The main omission is a drip tray, which means users still have to manage spills manually at the dispenser.

On purification, the M3 Pro avoids the common TDS-controller approach that mixes raw water back into the output. Smartprix says every batch passes through the RO membrane, after which a calibrated mineral cartridge restores calcium, magnesium and copper rather than diluting the purified water. The review’s field test on Delhi-NCR water, which fluctuated between 600 ppm and 900 ppm, found output readings of 53 ppm and 64 ppm. Urban Company also says the system is built to handle input water up to 2,000 ppm, while an anti-scale cartridge is intended to protect the membrane in hard-water conditions.

The app experience is unusually central to the product. Smartprix says the companion app works as a dashboard for consumption, tank level, TDS readings and filter health, and also supports preset dispensing and diagnostics. That includes an automated health check across key components and a remote support flow that can route users to a technician. The review is more positive about the software than the support process, however: it says customers must pass through an AI chatbot before getting a callback, and that the service journey feels more complicated than the product’s promise of low-maintenance ownership would suggest.

The commercial case rests on the warranty and long service life. Urban Company says the filters are designed to last up to three years without routine servicing, and that the unit is backed by an unconditional three-year warranty. Smartprix says the first three years carry no cost for filters, electrical parts or labour, after which renewal is a flat fee rather than a conventional annual maintenance contract. The review estimates a 10-year ownership cost of about ₹41,165 for the M3 Pro, placing it above the cheapest rivals but below several premium RO systems once service and replacement parts are included. Urban Company has said the purifier can save customers more than ₹26,000 over nine years compared with conventional RO setups.

Taken together, the Native M3 Pro is less a general-purpose purifier than a specialised answer to a familiar Indian household problem: uncertain water quality, recurring service costs and the suspicion that many RO systems compromise purity to improve a display number. Its appeal lies in consistency, hygiene and predictable ownership rather than the lowest sticker price. For homes that genuinely need full RO treatment, and particularly those with high TDS or variable supply, Urban Company has built a product that tries to remove the usual hidden friction from the category.
