Ploonk BV has withdrawn certain batches of the Imoshion MagSafe Powerbank 10,000 mAh after reports of overheating and potential fire risk, affecting units sold in multiple colours and variants across Europe.
Ploonk BV has withdrawn the Imoshion MagSafe Powerbank 10,000 mAh after warning that some units can overheat while charging, creating a fire risk. The problem concerns the wireless model IM-PB-0007 and may appear even when there are no visible signs of damage, such as swelling or cracking, making the fault harder for users to spot.
The company says only two production batches are affected: 2024-06-0004 and 2024-09-0007. The batch number is printed on the back of the device, and consumers are being told to stop using the power bank immediately if it matches either code. The recall also covers several colours, including white, black, blue, purple and pink, as well as named variants such as Apricot Orange, Damn Pink, Cobalt Blue and Petrol Green.
According to reports from Computer Bild, TechBook and the Dutch Consumers’ Association, the power bank was sold between July 2024 and June 2026 through multiple retailers and online channels. Those reports name MediaMarkt and Kaufland among the sellers and note that the device was also available in Germany. No confirmed incidents were listed in the initial warning, and the total number of affected units was not disclosed.
The recall adds to a wider pattern of concern around wireless power banks using lithium-ion batteries. In March 2025, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a separate recall by VC Group of about 89,500 Velvet Caviar MagSafe Wireless Power Pack units after warning of fire and burn hazards linked to overheating batteries. Regulators have repeatedly warned that portable chargers can pose serious risks if internal cells fail during charging.
Anyone who owns the Imoshion unit should not plug it in, use it to charge another device or leave it near heat sources or flammable materials. Ploonk BV has asked owners of the affected batches to contact its customer service for instructions, with telephone and e-mail support available for next steps.
