Honda launches the QC3 electric scooter to strengthen its grip on India’s urban mobility market

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India introduces the QC3, a family-focused electric scooter with significant range and utility enhancements, as it aims to expand its presence in India’s growing EV market.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has added a third electric scooter to its range with the launch of the QC3, a family-oriented model aimed at daily urban use. Priced at ₹1,35,000 ex-showroom in New Delhi, it sits above the QC1 and is intended to broaden the company’s presence in India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler market.

At the centre of the QC3 is a 3.0kWh fixed lithium-ion battery, which Honda says delivers an IDC-certified range of 145km on a single charge. Charging from zero to 80% takes 2 hours and 40 minutes, while a full charge takes about four hours. That combination of range and charging time places the scooter in a practical bracket for commuting, school runs and regular household use.

Honda has also placed clear emphasis on utility. The QC3 offers 32 litres of under-seat storage, notably more than the QC1’s 26 litres, giving it space for a full-face helmet, shopping bags or daily carry items. A broad floorboard adds further convenience for everyday errands, while the fixed battery layout avoids the need to remove and carry the pack for charging.

The equipment list is pitched at buyers looking for a more connected scooter. Honda has fitted a 5-inch colour TFT display with RoadSync smartphone integration, enabling turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, trip information and service reminders. The scooter also gets Honda’s Smart Key system, which supports keyless start, remote boot release, vehicle location and theft alarm functions.

Design and hardware follow the same family-focused brief. The scooter uses LED lighting, a long single-piece seat, telescopic front suspension, twin rear shock absorbers, a front disc brake and a rear drum brake with combined braking support. It is being offered in four colours: Matt Photon Grey Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue.

Initial sales are limited to five cities through Honda’s Red Wing dealer network: Delhi, Agra, Surat, Cuttack and Kollam. Bookings have opened with a ₹5,000 token amount, with wider roll-out planned later to other major cities. The QC3 will enter one of the most competitive price bands in India, where it will face rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2 Plus and Ather’s family-focused scooters.
