Elecom introduces a new hybrid charger combining wall, portable power bank, and integrated USB-C cable in a compact, eco-friendly design, featuring rapid recharging and multi-device compatibility.
Elecom has added another hybrid charger to its line-up, combining a wall charger, a USB Type-C cable and a mobile battery in one unit. According to the company’s announcement, the new device is scheduled for release in late June and is designed to cut down on the need to carry separate accessories for travel or daily commuting. It comes in 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh versions, both built around the same integrated charging concept.
The product can work on the move as a power bank or be plugged directly into the mains as an AC charger. Elecom says the built-in USB Type-C cable, the USB Type-C port and the USB-A port can be used to charge several devices at once, including a smartphone and wireless earphones. In battery mode, the Type-C output reaches up to 30W, while the AC-charging mode supports up to 67W under USB Power Delivery, which is enough to handle laptops as well as phones and tablets.
Elecom has also focused on portability and usability. The plug folds away using a swing mechanism, which should make the unit easier to carry in a bag, while an LED panel shows remaining battery in 1% increments. The company says the battery can be recharged in about 2 hours and 40 minutes, whether it is plugged straight into a socket or charged through a separate AC adaptor. Its support for USB Power Delivery and PPS means the charger can adjust output to suit the attached device.
Safety and compatibility remain central to the design. Elecom says the built-in lithium-ion battery meets relevant Japanese safety standards, including JIS C 62133-2:2020 and JIS C 8715-2:2024, and complies with PSE technical requirements. Thermal Protection and multiple protection circuits are included to stop operation if an abnormal condition is detected. The device can also charge Nintendo Switch models, and Elecom notes that the battery capacity stays within the limit allowed for cabin baggage on aircraft.
The range includes a black 5,000mAh model, a white-and-black “Shiro-chan” 5,000mAh version, and 10,000mAh models in black, white and white-and-black finishes. Elecom says the smaller version can charge a 1,800mAh smartphone about 1.6 times, while the larger model can manage roughly 3.3 full charges of the same handset class. The company also positions the product as part of its THINK ECOLOGY programme, saying it uses recycled materials in key components, sustainably sourced paper for packaging and less plastic than its own internal benchmark.
