TECNO unveils the CAMON Slim 5G, blending an ultra-thin body with high-end camera technology and artistic finishes, targeting style-conscious users seeking durability and utility.
TECNO has introduced the CAMON Slim 5G, a handset built around an unusual brief: to combine an exceptionally thin body with battery capacity, imaging hardware and a highly stylised finish. The company says the phone measures 6.39mm thick, yet still houses a 6,000mAh battery, positioning it as a slimmer alternative without the usual compromise on endurance. It is being framed less as a conventional mass-market device than as a design-led statement piece with practical specifications.
The styling is central to that pitch. TECNO says the phone continues the swan-neck curve design language seen on earlier CAMON models, with influences drawn from ballet and automotive surfaces. It is offered in five finish options: Burgundy Red, Neo Mondrian, Matisse Black, Van Gogh Blue and Rebel Pink. In the company’s telling, each variant is meant to function as a visual reference to art history as well as a personal style choice. Under the surface, the camera system is the main technical headline. TECNO says the device uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, alongside optical image stabilisation and additional AI-based stabilisation methods. The company is also highlighting a FlashSnap mode, which is designed to capture moving subjects without the user having to time the shutter precisely. The software package leans heavily on AI features aimed at everyday tasks rather than novelty functions. According to TECNO, the phone can generate product posters for small sellers, create composite pet portraits, restore flawed images and convert recorded lectures into structured notes. It also includes tools for importing class timetables and estimating food intake from photographs. Those functions are presented as part of a broader attempt to position the phone as a utility device for students, professionals and small businesses, not only as a camera-first handset.
Durability and display hardware are also part of the specification sheet. TECNO says the CAMON Slim 5G carries IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 protection ratings, as well as MIL-STD-810 certification for shock and drop resistance. The phone is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen at 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, and it runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G processor. TECNO also says buyers will receive five years of security updates and three major operating system upgrades, which may matter as much as the design language for users planning to keep the device for several years. The launch is being tied to the #MakeItLighter campaign, which TECNO says is intended to reflect the lives of women balancing work, family and personal ambition.
