vivo X500 Pro Max outlasts flagship rivals in real-world battery test

The vivo X500 Pro Max recorded 12 hours and 30 minutes in a demanding endurance test, beating flagship rivals despite the iPhone 18 Pro Max running cooler under sustained load.

A recent battery endurance test of several flagship smartphones has put the vivo X500 Pro Max in first place, according to Geeky Gadgets’ summary of the Techmo video. The comparison covered the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Galaxy S26 Ultra, and aimed to replicate everyday behaviour rather than rely on synthetic benchmarks. The test matters because battery life is now shaped not only by cell size, but also by chipset efficiency, software tuning and heat control, all of which can affect how long a phone remains usable in real-world conditions.

The vivo result is consistent with the hardware specifications now associated with the X500 Pro Max. Notebookcheck reports that vivo launched the X500 Pro series in China with the Dimensity 9600 Pro, and that the Pro Max model carries an 8,000mAh battery, 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Independent product listings and comparisons also describe the Pro Max as the largest model in the line, with a 6.85-inch display and a heavier chassis than the standard X500 Pro, reflecting the trade-off that often comes with a larger battery and more ambitious hardware.

In the test itself, the phones were pushed through three common usage patterns: YouTube playback, 4K video recording and Google Meet video calls. The vivo X500 Pro Max remained the most efficient in each stage, retaining 87% after five hours of video playback, 72% after the recording session and 46% after the prolonged video call. The iPhone 18 Pro Max did not lead on raw endurance, but it was noted for running cooler and holding performance more steadily under load, which suggests that thermal management can be as important as battery size when a device is stressed for long periods.

The final ranking placed the vivo X500 Pro Max on top with 12 hours and 30 minutes of total battery life. The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max followed on 11 hours and 57 minutes, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max reached 11 hours and 33 minutes. Despite having a smaller battery than the top Chinese rivals, the iPhone 18 Pro Max still posted a respectable 10 hours and 39 minutes, illustrating the benefits of tight hardware-software integration. The Pixel 11 Pro XL and Galaxy S26 Ultra trailed at 9 hours and 38 minutes and 9 hours and 12 minutes respectively. Taken together, the results reinforce a broader trend in flagship phones: larger batteries help, but the best endurance comes from a combination of cell capacity, efficient silicon and careful thermal design.
