Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro sale brings brighter display and upgraded safety features

Huawei’s premium 46mm smartwatch has gone on sale in China with a 3,000-nit display, improved navigation, fall detection and a battery life of up to 21 days.

Huawei’s Watch GT 6 Pro has gone on sale in China from 2025, with prices starting at 2,488 yuan, while JD.com promotions are advertising a lower effective price when voucher discounts and state subsidies are applied. The deal is time-limited and, as the retailer notes, the final amount depends on the actual payment at checkout.

The Pro model is offered only in a 46mm case and uses a 1.47-inch display that Huawei says is 5.5 per cent larger than the panel in the previous generation. The company has also raised peak brightness to 3,000 nits, which should improve legibility outdoors. Compared with the standard version, the Pro edition uses more premium materials, including sapphire glass, an aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame and a nano-crystalline ceramic rear cover. It is available in brown, titanium and black finishes, and Huawei says battery life still reaches 21 days.

Huawei has also upgraded the positioning system across the range. The new sunflower navigation system is designed to improve the accuracy of pace, distance and altitude readings, according to the company. Outdoor modes such as cycling, trail running, golf and skiing have been refined, and a new virtual power meter has been added for cycling. Huawei says a new high-range IMU sensor also enables automatic fall detection, with the watch able to ask whether the wearer needs help and, if necessary, place an emergency call through a paired phone or notify an emergency contact.

Beyond sports and safety tools, the Watch GT 6 Pro supports Alipay tap-to-pay, Star Flash car keys, Bluetooth calling, traffic cards, music playback and third-party applications. Huawei’s wider GT 6 line was launched globally in September, with the Pro model also appearing in overseas listings at prices around €349.99 to €499, depending on strap and market. In Japan, Watch Impress reported a release date of 14 October, underlining that Huawei is rolling the series out market by market rather than on a single worldwide schedule.
