Reolink Home Hub 2 brings 16TB local storage and AI search to security cameras

Reolink’s $199.99 Home Hub 2 stores footage from up to eight cameras, adds support for 16TB SATA drives and cuts reliance on cloud subscriptions.

Reolink has begun selling the Home Hub 2, a local storage and management unit for its security cameras that is designed to reduce reliance on cloud subscriptions. The device was shown at IFA 2026 and is priced at $199.99. Reolink says the hub can record footage from as many as eight cameras, letting users keep video on-site rather than paying for ongoing cloud access.

The main update over the first-generation Home Hub is support for 2.5-inch SATA drives, which lifts maximum storage capacity to 16TB. Reolink says the hub still keeps a microSD card slot for quicker transfer and retrieval of recordings. That places it somewhere between a conventional home security base station and a compact network-attached storage device, although it is intended specifically for camera footage.

Reolink is also positioning the Home Hub 2 around artificial intelligence features. According to the company, the Reolink app can search recordings using natural-language prompts to locate people, vehicles, pets or specific events. It also provides daily summaries and visual graphs highlighting notable activity, while footage stored on the hub is encrypted. Reolink says up to 20 users can be given access, each with different permission levels.

The company also says the hub works with Google Home and Alexa, so camera feeds can be viewed on compatible smart displays. Reolink’s wider Home Hub range is built around local storage with no monthly fees, and the company says its hubs support a broad selection of Reolink cameras, including many PoE, plug-in Wi-Fi and newer battery Wi-Fi models. Buyers should note, however, that the $199.99 price does not include storage media, which must be purchased separately.
