Apple opens India pre-orders for its first foldable iPhone, priced from Rs. 2,99,900

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is now available to pre-order in India ahead of its 23 October launch, with prices reaching Rs. 4,49,900 for the 2TB model.

Apple has opened pre-orders in India for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, after unveiling the device at its September “Surprise and Shine” event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro range, new AirPods and updated Apple Watch models. According to Apple’s Indian website, sales will begin on 23 October, with pre-orders starting at 5:30pm IST today through the Apple Store app and the company’s online store.

The handset enters the market at the very top end of Apple’s pricing ladder. The 256GB model starts at Rs. 2,99,900, while the 512GB, 1TB and 2TB versions are priced at Rs. 3,24,900, Rs. 3,74,900 and Rs. 4,49,900 respectively, according to Apple and Gadgets360. Buyers can choose between Star White and Night Sky finishes.

Apple is also promoting a set of launch incentives. The company says eligible customers can receive up to Rs. 81,500 in trade-in credit for an iPhone 13 or newer, alongside no-cost EMI options for up to 12 months through major banks. Apple is additionally offering up to Rs. 7,000 in instant cashback on eligible American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards, plus three months each of Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade.

On the hardware side, the iPhone Duo uses a book-style foldable design with a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, both supporting ProMotion. Apple says the main screen is 50% larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The phone is powered by the A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process and runs iOS 27.1 with Apple Intelligence support, including Siri AI features.

Apple has fitted the device with a 48-megapixel Dual Fusion rear camera system, a 12-megapixel Centre Stage front camera and an under-display FaceTime camera for use when unfolded. Connectivity includes MagSafe wireless charging, USB Type-C, Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, while Apple claims a dual-battery setup delivers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer screen.
