Samsung’s 800MB/s Switch 2 microSD card drops to $59.99 on Amazon

Samsung’s 256GB P9 Express microSDXC card is now $59.99 on Amazon, offering Switch 2 owners SD Express speeds and 25% off its list price.

Amazon has cut the price of Samsung’s P9 Express 256GB microSDXC card to $59.99, trimming $20 from its $79.99 list price. The discount leaves the Nintendo Switch 2-focused storage card at a 25% reduction, making it a more accessible option for players who need extra capacity for downloads, captures and updates. Android Authority reported that the offer is available on Amazon, while SammyGuru also noted the same reduced price.

The P9 Express is built around the newer SD Express standard rather than the older UHS-I format used by many conventional gaming cards. Samsung says the card can reach sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s on compatible hardware, with listed UHS-I performance of up to 90 MB/s. Tom’s Hardware has reported that the card also supports write speeds of up to 200 MB/s, which places it well above typical microSD performance for handheld gaming. The specification set includes microSDXC, Class 10, U3 and V30 ratings, plus a PCIe Gen 3.0 x1 and NVMe 1.3 interface for supported devices.

For Switch 2 owners, the practical appeal is straightforward: more room for games, screenshots and video capture, together with faster installs and transfers where the console can take advantage of the higher-speed standard. The card has also attracted favourable user feedback, with Android Authority citing a 4.7-star review rating. Earlier promotions on the same model reached lower levels, including $47.99 and $39.99 on Amazon during other sales periods, according to Tom’s Hardware, Wccftech and Slickdeals, which suggests the current price is competitive even if not the deepest discount seen so far.
