The AUD $429.99 OMVI 2i Ultra combines wide-angle coverage, automated tracking and on-device detection, with a battery claimed to last up to six months.
Reolink has brought its OMVI 2i Ultra security camera to Australia through JB Hi-Fi, marking the company’s first major product launch with the retailer since joining its range. The device is now stocked in 160 JB Hi-Fi stores, and it is also being sold through Reolink’s own online channel and Amazon for AUD $429.99.
The OMVI 2i Ultra is a dual-lens model built for users who want wider coverage from a single unit. Reolink says the camera combines an 8MP wide-angle sensor with a secondary 5MP pan-and-tilt lens, allowing it to track movement while preserving a broad fixed view of the scene.
The lower lens can pan through 355 degrees and tilt 55 degrees, enabling the camera to follow a subject after the wider lens detects motion. The system also supports auto-framing and lets users direct the pan-tilt module to a chosen point within the wider image.
Reolink is pitching the product at homes and smaller businesses that want to cover driveways, entrances, yards and side passages without installing several cameras. That approach reflects a wider shift in consumer security hardware, where manufacturers are trying to reduce installation complexity while adding software-led features such as subject recognition and automated tracking.
Battery performance is one of the camera’s main selling points. Reolink says the unit uses a detachable 10,000mAh battery that can last for up to six months on a charge under its stated conditions, and it is paired with a built-in 6W solar panel to cut the need for manual recharging. The camera also runs on-device detection designed to distinguish between people, vehicles and animals, a feature intended to reduce false alerts.
Other functions include colour night vision, infrared night vision, a motion-activated spotlight, dual PIR sensors, a siren, light deterrence, two-way audio and support for up to 12 simultaneous streams. For storage, the camera supports microSD cards of up to 512GB and Reolink Home Hub systems. It also works with Alexa and Google Assistant, and Reolink says the core features do not require a subscription.
Nick Nigro, Reolink’s vice-president for Australasia, said the company selected the OMVI 2i Ultra for its first JB Hi-Fi launch because of its wide coverage and tracking design. Speaking in the company’s announcement, he said the camera could help both homeowners and business owners monitor large areas while still capturing detail at closer range, and that on-device smart detection would help cut down on false alarms.
The JB Hi-Fi rollout adds to Reolink’s Australian retail presence, which already includes The Good Guys, Costco and Bunnings Warehouse. It also gives the brand a stronger physical footprint in a market where interest in self-install security products has grown, alongside demand for systems that avoid ongoing monthly fees and cloud dependency.
Reolink says the OMVI 2i Ultra was first shown at IFA 2026 and joins its OMVI line-up as an all-in-one option for property monitoring. The company says it now has products in more than 5,000 stores globally and serves millions of users, but the Australian launch places it in a competitive premium segment at a time when buyers are looking for fewer devices, less wiring and more local processing.
