Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 redefines noise cancellation and sound quality for iPhone travellers

The new AirPods Pro 3, now £174 on Amazon, offer amplified noise-cancelling, improved sound, and enhanced comfort, making them the top choice for iPhone users on holiday and beyond.

For iPhone owners heading off on holiday, Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 are an easy fit with the wider iOS ecosystem, but the case for them now rests on more than convenience. What Hi-Fi says its audio team rates the new model above the rest of the AirPods line, and the earbuds are currently being sold by Amazon for £174, down from a launch price of £219.

That matters because the AirPods Pro 3 are not just another incremental update. According to MacRumors, Apple has boosted active noise-cancelling to as much as twice the effectiveness of the previous generation, while also reshaping the acoustic architecture and Adaptive EQ to improve sound quality. What Hi-Fi’s own testing found clearer, more spacious and more dynamic playback than before, with noise isolation strong enough to handle aircraft engines, cabin announcements and nearby conversation.

Comfort and battery life also appear to have moved forward. Macworld reported a more secure fit, better endurance and strong performance from the new heart-rate sensor, while Tom’s Guide said the earbuds deliver excellent transparency mode, improved call quality and up to 8 hours of battery life. Consumer Reports and TechRadar both highlighted the addition of live translation and health tracking, features that broaden the appeal beyond simple listening.

For travellers, the result is a set of earbuds that look especially well suited to long journeys, but the appeal is broader than that. The AirPods Pro 3 remain most compelling for iPhone users, yet the combination of stronger noise-cancelling, better sound and a more refined fit gives them a place among the best premium wireless earbuds even away from the airport.
