Samsung launches a major pre-sale promotion for its latest foldables in Brazil, offering significant discounts and interest-free instalments to boost adoption amid continued reassurance strategies.
Samsung has opened a Brazilian pre-sale push for its newest foldable phones through a partnership with XP, giving Cartões XP customers a discount window from 6 August to 3 September. The offer is positioned around the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, with selected Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 models also included, according to Canaltech and Samsung’s Brazilian partnership pages.
The main attraction is price. During the promotion period, buyers get 20% off the foldables, with a further 10% reduction available through the XPBANK coupon. XP says purchases can be split into as many as 18 interest-free instalments on its cards, and the buying process is handled through the XP app before customers are redirected to Samsung’s official store.
The headline prices released for the Brazilian campaign show the Galaxy Z Flip8 256 GB at R$ 6,200.10, down from R$ 9,199, the Galaxy Z Fold8 256 GB at R$ 9,062.10, down from R$ 12,599, and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra 256 GB at R$ 10,502.10, down from R$ 14,599. Samsung has used similar launch incentives in Brazil before, including accessory bundles and upgrade offers, as well as mall-based experience points to build interest in its foldables.
The XP arrangement also fits a broader pattern in Samsung’s Brazilian foldable strategy: make the devices easier to sample, easier to finance and less risky to buy. On one of its partnership pages, Samsung also promotes a separate “Compre & Teste” programme for the Galaxy Z Fold7, allowing a 60-day trial with a refund option if the customer is not satisfied. That suggests the company is continuing to treat foldables as a premium category that still needs reassurance as much as promotion.
