Acer launches affordable Snapdragon-based Aspire Go 15 in UK market

Acer has quietly introduced the Aspire Go 15 AG15-Q31P, a budget-friendly Windows laptop powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon C platform, offering a MacBook Neo rival with practical features and notable compromises.

Acer has quietly opened pre-orders for the Aspire Go 15 AG15-Q31P, an entry-level laptop built around Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon C platform and positioned as a lower-cost rival to Apple’s MacBook Neo. The machine has first appeared in the United Kingdom, where Amazon is listing it at the equivalent of about €585, with wider European availability expected later. According to Notebookcheck, Acer is pitching the model as a modest but practical option for everyday computing rather than a performance machine.

The appeal is straightforward: the Aspire Go 15 matches the MacBook Neo on 8GB of memory but uses a smaller 128GB solid-state drive, which helps explain the lower price. Tom’s Hardware reported that the Snapdragon C platform is aimed at affordable Windows laptops and that Acer’s implementation uses an eight-core chip with integrated Adreno graphics. The Acer is said to run Windows 11 and include a Copilot key, though it does not meet Microsoft’s Copilot+ hardware requirements because of its memory limit.

Acer has also made clear where the compromises lie. The Aspire Go 15 uses a 15.6-inch 1,920 x 1,080 display in the traditional 16:9 format, rather than the brighter Liquid Retina panel on Apple’s machine. In return, it offers a full-size keyboard with a number pad, dual USB-C ports, USB-A, HDMI 1.4, Wi-Fi 6E, a 1080p webcam and a 53Wh battery. Tom’s Hardware said the system also includes active cooling, while other reports describe it as tuned for quiet operation and basic tasks such as browsing, streaming and office work. Acer has not yet given battery-life figures, but the chip’s low-power design suggests endurance may be one of its main selling points.
