RheidonTech’s portable EV charger simplifies home and travel charging with live data display

RheidonTech announces the PC200 3.6 kW portable EV charger, offering a straightforward, no-fuss charging solution with live data display, designed for domestic and on-the-road use without relying on apps or software.

RheidonTech’s PC200 3.6 kW portable EV charger is built around simplicity rather than software. It is a plug-and-play unit for electric vehicles, including Tesla models, with a colour screen on the body that shows live charging data without requiring an app or account. The display reports power, elapsed charging time, voltage, current and energy delivered in kWh, making it easier to monitor a session at a glance.

The charger is designed for ordinary 230V domestic use and can also travel with the driver thanks to its portable format. RheidonTech supplies a wall mount, a 7.5-metre cable and a carrying case, so the unit can serve as a temporary home charging solution as well as an on-the-road backup. The company says it is compatible with Type 2 connectors, which covers a wide range of electric cars.

Current control is one of its more useful functions. RheidonTech says the charger can be adjusted from 6A to 16A, letting users reduce demand on a standard socket or raise output when the installation is stronger. That flexibility matters, because a domestic outlet is usually better kept at 8A to 10A, while a reinforced socket is more appropriate for higher loads. A built-in NTC temperature sensor in the Schuko plug is meant to cut charging if the connection overheats.

The unit also carries TÜV certification and an IP65 rating, which indicates protection against dust and water. On paper, that places it in the category of a practical, safety-minded portable charger rather than a fixed wallbox replacement. BlogTesla described it as a strong option for daily charging, particularly for Tesla owners who want a straightforward device without the complexity of connected software, though it also noted that a fixed 7 kW or 11 kW wallbox will still charge faster.
