Logitech’s G Pro X2 Superstrike redefines gaming mice with configurable haptic clicks

Logitech’s G Pro X2 Superstrike is unusual even by gaming mouse standards: it replaces the familiar mechanical click with a haptic, inductive system designed to make button response more tunable. In a review for Digital Trends, the writer said the change was enough to retire a long-used Logitech G502 X Plus LIGHTSPEED after more than a month of ranked Valorant play, not because the new mouse was obviously faster on its own but because it felt more closely matched to the way the game was played.

At about 61 grammes, the mouse is built firmly for the competitive end of the market. Digital Trends described it as light without feeling fragile, while RTINGS said its design and low click latency make it well suited to fast-paced gaming. The lack of Bluetooth support and the absence of left and right scroll-wheel inputs are notable omissions, however, especially for users who want a more versatile everyday mouse as well as a gaming-focused one.

The core differentiator is Logitech’s Haptic Inductive Trigger System, or HITS. Rather than using a conventional switch, the mouse tracks button travel with inductive sensing and recreates the click through haptics. That lets users adjust actuation and reset behaviour in software, much as Hall effect keyboards allow players to tune key response. TechSpot said the system brings rapid-trigger-style behaviour to mouse input, while Tom’s Guide highlighted specifications including a 44,000 DPI sensor and 8,000Hz polling rate.

That flexibility comes with a learning curve. The Digital Trends review said the first impression can be disorientating, because the haptic click does not feel like a standard mechanical switch. TechSpot made a similar point, noting that the new tactile response takes time to master. Logitech G Hub also plays a central role here, since it is where users adjust the click feel, but the software adds another layer of setup before the mouse feels settled.

The broader significance is that Logitech is trying to reframe mouse clicks as a configurable input rather than a fixed piece of hardware. Dexerto and GAMES.GG both characterised the Superstrike as a notable step away from traditional microswitches, with the appeal centred on personalisation as much as raw speed. The Digital Trends reviewer ultimately argued that the mouse worked because it adapted to the player rather than forcing the player to adapt to it, which is likely to be the most persuasive case for a device this specialised.
