Motorola’s Moto Pad 70 gains longer Android support with 2030 updates

Motorola has launched the Moto Pad 70 in India, offering a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, 5G connectivity, a bundled stylus, and extended Android update support until 2030, challenging premium models with its mid-range features and software longevity.

Motorola has expanded its tablet line-up in India with the Moto Pad 70, a mid-range Android model that pairs a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with 5G connectivity, a bundled stylus and long software support. Gadgets 360 reported that the tablet is aimed at buyers looking for a larger screen and pen input without moving into premium pricing.

The device is built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chipset and ships with 8GB of RAM, alongside 128GB or 256GB of storage. According to Gadgets 360 and Gizmochina, storage can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 2TB. Motorola is also including the Moto Pen in the box, while the tablet adds quad speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, a dual-microphone setup and AI features such as Circle to Search and Gemini integration.

The display is an IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 96% DCI-P3 colour coverage and TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced flicker and low blue light. Battery life is backed by a 10,200mAh cell with 68W wired charging, and the package includes the charger. The tablet also carries an IP52 rating for limited dust and splash resistance, a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Motorola has priced the Moto Pad 70 at ₹33,999 for the 8GB/128GB version and ₹36,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, with sales due to begin on August 15 through Flipkart and Motorola’s India website. Gizmochina reported that the company is promising upgrades up to Android 18 and security patches until 2030, which gives the tablet a longer support window than many rivals in its class. The launch follows the recent arrival of the more expensive Moto Pad 70 Pro, which targets buyers wanting a faster processor and higher-resolution display.
