Acer expands ARM-based laptop lineup with budget and professional models powered by Snapdragon

Acer introduces two new Snapdragon-powered laptops targeting different users , the affordable Aspire Go 15 and the high-performance Swift Spin 14 AI , signalling a shift towards longer-lasting, quieter Windows systems in a competitive market.

Acer is broadening its push into ARM-based laptops with two new Snapdragon-powered models aimed at very different buyers: the Aspire Go 15 for everyday use and the Swift Spin 14 AI for users who want a more capable machine for on-device artificial intelligence work. The move reflects a wider effort by PC makers to pair lower power consumption with longer battery life and quieter operation, while keeping Windows laptops competitive against Apple’s own ARM-based systems.

The Aspire Go 15 is pitched as the entry-level option. Tom’s Hardware reported that Acer and Qualcomm are positioning it as the first laptop built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon C platform, with 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB solid-state drive at a price expected to sit just above the $300 mark. The machine is shown with a 16.5-inch Full HD display, dual USB-C ports, HDMI and Windows 11 Home, although it does not support Copilot+ because the chip does not meet Microsoft’s current requirements. Tom’s Hardware also noted that a prototype has active cooling, a 53 Wh battery and a mixture of USB-C, USB-A and HDMI ports, which should make it easier to use without dongles.

That model is intended for basic productivity such as web browsing, document work and media consumption, not demanding creative software. Acer says the laptop uses recycled plastics and fully recyclable packaging, and it has earned Energy Star and EPEAT certification. If those claims hold up in retail form, the Aspire Go 15 would sit in the same budget category as other value-focused laptops that prioritise utility over raw speed, a segment where battery life and port selection often matter more than benchmark numbers.

The more ambitious Swift Spin 14 AI is aimed at professionals and creators. According to Notebookcheck and Qualcomm’s own device listing, the convertible laptop uses Snapdragon X2 Elite silicon, a 360-degree hinge and a 120 Hz touchscreen. Acer says the machine can be configured with the Snapdragon X2 Elite or X2 Plus and a neural processing unit rated at up to 80 TOPS, a measure of AI performance that refers to trillions of operations per second. The company also claims support for up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1 TB SSD and as much as 23 hours of video playback, putting it among the more capable ARM laptops announced for 2026.

Acer is also adding the sort of hardware expected in a premium 2-in-1. The Swift Spin 14 AI includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and a 5-megapixel infrared camera for video calls and biometric sign-in. Notebookcheck said the device ships with a pressure-sensitive stylus and USB4 ports, reinforcing its focus on flexible work rather than simple consumption. Taken together, the two launches show Acer trying to cover both ends of the Snapdragon market: one model built around affordability and efficiency, the other around AI performance and portability.
