Canon Malaysia has opened pre-orders for the EOS R8 Mark II, a full-frame mirrorless camera aimed at creators who want a lighter body without giving up advanced stills and video tools. The local launch starts at RM6,999 for the body only, with deliveries due from 24 October 2026. According to Canon and local retail listings, buyers who pre-order through the promotional window will also receive bundled gifts and can secure an extended warranty by registering their purchase within 14 days. The package includes a 64GB V30 SD card and an LP-E17 battery pack, while the warranty extension lifts coverage to four years.
The EOS R8 Mark II is built around an approximately 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC X processing, with ISO sensitivity extended to 102,400. Canon says the camera’s 5-axis in-body image stabilisation can deliver up to 7.5 stops of compensation when used with compatible RF lenses that also provide optical stabilisation. It also offers burst shooting at up to 40 frames per second using the electronic shutter, plus a Pre-Continuous Shooting mode that records frames before the shutter is fully pressed. Digital Camera World noted that Canon has also added an autofocus joystick and refined the body design, while keeping the camera among the company’s lightest full-frame models with stabilisation.
Video features are a major part of the update. Canon says the camera records 4K at 60p oversampled from 6K, and includes Canon Log 3 and support for custom LUT files for colour grading workflows. It also provides Full HD slow-motion recording with audio, a 2.35:1 Cinema View option and plug-and-play livestreaming over USB-C using UVC and UAC. The feature set broadens the camera’s appeal beyond still photography, especially for hybrid shooters who want one body for both content creation and general use.
Canon Malaysia is offering three launch bundles alongside the body-only option. The RF24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM kit is priced at RM7,699, the RF45mm f/1.2 STM kit at RM8,578, and the RF24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM kit at RM8,598.
