Chuwi’s GTBook X blurs lines with conflicting specs and targeting budget gamers

Chuwi’s new GTBook X aims to attract budget-conscious gamers with a mix of modern and older hardware, but conflicting specifications raise questions about regional variants and retail configurations.

Chuwi has introduced the GTBook X as a budget gaming laptop that pairs a relatively modern Intel processor with an older Nvidia graphics chip. According to Ary News, the machine uses an Intel Core 7 230H and a GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, a combination that leaves out newer Nvidia features such as Frame Generation and Multi-Frame Generation, which are increasingly relevant in lower-cost gaming laptops.

The company’s own product pages, however, tell a slightly different story. Chuwi lists the GTBook X with an Intel Core i7-13620H, 10 cores and 16 threads, alongside 16GB of DDR4 memory and either 512GB or 1TB of PCIe NVMe storage. It also describes a 16-inch WUXGA IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% sRGB coverage, rather than the 15.6-inch, 144Hz panel described in Ary News’ account. That discrepancy suggests the GTBook X may be sold with different regional configurations or that the published specifications are still being aligned.

Even with the conflicting listings, the broader proposition is clear: Chuwi is aiming at buyers who want discrete graphics without paying for a premium gaming model. The company says the laptop includes dual-fan cooling, five heat pipes, HDMI, USB-C, multiple USB-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus an RGB-backlit keyboard. Ary News reports a US-store price of $999, which places the GTBook X in a crowded segment where the value depends heavily on whether the final retail configuration matches the more ambitious specification sheet.
