Leaked materials indicate Google is launching a special edition of the Pixel Watch 5 featuring a Curry-themed strap and branding, blending sports collaboration with premium wearable accessories amid a series of unusual product leaks.
Google appears to be preparing a Stephen Curry special edition of the Pixel Watch 5, extending a collaboration that already reached Fitbit wearables earlier this year. Leaked marketing material, first reported by Adamya Sharma of Android Authority and tied to OnLeaks and MyMobiles, suggests the partnership is less about a redesigned watch and more about a themed strap and branding. Other recent leaks have indicated that the Pixel Watch 5 itself is close to its predecessor in shape and layout, which makes the Curry version look like a limited cosmetic variant rather than a new hardware tier.
The distinctive element is a woven loop band in stone grey and taupe, lifted with bright orange accents and a striped tail section. A small label carries “Stephen Curry” and “#LockIn”, echoing the basketball star’s training mantra. According to the leaked marketing, the band was designed with Curry in mind and includes a water-repellent coating aimed at exercise and heavy use.
Pricing suggests Google is treating the edition as a premium accessory bundle. The Curry model is said to cost €579.99, compared with an expected €549 for the standard 45mm LTE Pixel Watch 5, or roughly €31 extra for the themed version. The materials also indicate that availability will be limited, with sales restricted to select markets and stock described as available only while supplies last.
The watch is arriving after an unusual run of leaks. Android Central reported that a purported Pixel Watch 5 was found on the ocean floor near St. Martin, with images showing branding for Google and the watch name alongside references to SpO2, electrodermal activity, heart-rate monitoring, ultra-wideband support and IP68 water resistance. TechRadar and PhoneArena said the incident, amplified by a social media post from Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford, showed how unusually complete the prototype looked for an unreleased product.
The Curry edition also fits Google’s broader launch timing. Leaked renders from late July showed both the 41mm and 45mm models, suggesting the new watch keeps the same overall case shape, crown and charging arrangement. The display in the marketing material shows August 20, implying that is when the watch may reach shops after Google’s expected unveiling on August 12.
