HP has launched the Star Book Air 14 in China, combining a 1.16kg design, OLED touchscreen and claimed battery life of up to 42.5 hours.
HP has unveiled the Star Book Air 14 in China, adding another slim 14-inch model to the company’s Windows laptop line-up. According to Zoomit, the machine is built around an OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels, 10-point touch support and hardware-level low-blue-light certification from TÜV, alongside HP’s Eye Ease technology, which is intended to reduce eye strain during long sessions.
Inside, the laptop uses Intel’s Core 5 320 processor, paired with 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. Multiple reports, including those from Gizmochina and YuGatech, identify the chip as part of Intel’s newer Wildcat Lake family, suggesting HP is positioning the Star Book Air 14 as an early adopter of the platform.
Battery life is one of HP’s main claims. The company says the 60Wh battery can last up to 42.5 hours under specific conditions, although that figure would vary sharply in real use depending on screen brightness, workload and the software running in the background. In practice, such manufacturer ratings are usually measured in controlled tests rather than everyday use.
The rest of the specification list is practical rather than extravagant. HP includes two USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1 output and an FHD infrared camera with dual microphones for video calls. The camera supports Windows Hello facial recognition, while the audio system has been tuned by Poly and carries DTS:X Ultra certification. That combination points to a lightweight laptop aimed at portability, conferencing and general productivity rather than high-end gaming or content creation.
